Best Food & Drink Products of 2020

Throughout 2020, I’ve discovered some new food and drink products that have become staples in my life. Here is a list of the top twelve products that I think are the best food and drink products of 2020!

1. Joolies Medjool Dates

I think I eat a Medjool date in some form every single day, ha! I love chopping up some Medjool dates to put on my porridge in the mornings, with some chopped up strawberries and a dollop of peanut butter. At night, I love blending Medjool dates in my homemade hot chocolate recipe, which is vegan and so delicious!

2. So Delicious CocoWhip

One of my favorite treats to have at the end of the day is a homemade vegan hot chocolate. I love to blend some oat milk, Medjool dates, cacao powder, and peanut butter in my Nutribullet, and then I froth and warm it up in my milk frother and put a dollop of this vegan whipped cream on top. It’s so chocolatey, warming, and the best end to a long day of work from home life.

3. Olipop Vintage Cola

This has been one of my absolute favorite drinks to have throughout 2020! It is so delicious, it’s packed with prebiotics, and it tastes like vintage cola! They call it a “sparkling tonic,” but it reminds me of kombucha with a coca-cola twist! They also have other sparkling tonic flavors on their website, like orange squeeze and root beer, but the vintage cola is my favorite so far.

4. Cappello’s Gnocchi

I’ve always loved the products by Cappello’s, so when I found this grain-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free gnocchi, I was beyond excited! They have a plain version as well as a sweet potato version, and I’ve enjoyed both of them, but I definitely think that the sweet potato gnocchi has more flavor. I love having this with a little ratatouille for a quick yet delicious dinner when I have a lot of work to do.

5. Ithaca Lemon & Garlic Hummus

If you know me, you will know that I am obsessed with hummus. I love to have hummus and crackers as a quick and easy snack, especially while working from home! I also use this spread on my gluten-free toast occasionally! The lemon garlic version is SO flavorful, but they have so many other options if you don’t like lemon and garlic.

6. From the Ground Up Cauliflower Stalks

These may sound gross, but you honestly do not taste the cauliflower at all. They taste so flavorful and are the perfect afternoon snack. They are certified vegan and gluten-free, and they are wonderful crunchy snack when you are lounging and watching TV.

7. Lesser Evil “No Cheese” Cheesiness Popcorn

I think I developed an obsession with this popcorn throughout quarantine. I love plain popcorn, but I also love flavored popcorn, and this one by Lesser Evil is amazing! They taste slightly similar to Smartfood popcorn, which I used to eat all the time when I was younger, but I love that these taste cheesy without the use of any dairy or real cheese!

8. Justin’s Mini Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE any combination of peanut butter and chocolate. One year my friend even got me a gigantic basket of these Justin’s peanut butter cups because they know that I love them that much! I love these mini peanut butter cups to have as a small treat at the end of the day! They are a perfect size and just the right amount of chocolate to satisfy a sweet craving.

9. Mary’s Gone Crackers Real Thin Crackers

To go along with my hummus and crackers obsession, I discovered these “thin crackers” this year, and they are fabulous! I really like the thickness of the cracker, and it has a very subtle and delicious flavor, which is perfect to dip in the lemon garlic hummus by Ithaca Hummus.

10. Dark Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Perfect Bar

Even with the switch to virtual school last year, I still have not made any improvements in my morning routine, so I tend to wake up fifteen minutes before I have to log on to Zoom. Therefore, this is my go-to breakfast during the school year. It’s quick, easy, and incredibly delicious! Once again, you can probably see my obsession with chocolate and peanut butter with the selection of this flavor, but Perfect Bar also has so many other flavors, including seasonal ones.

11. Nut Pods French Vanilla Creamer

Despite my lack of time in the morning, I still try to make my coffee in the morning, even if it’s during my break between classes. I usually have a hot coffee like an oat milk cappuccino, but when it’s hot out, I love to make an oat milk iced latte. I love to use this vanilla creamer with my oat milk as it makes my coffee extra creamy, and I love the subtle hint of vanilla!

12. Quinn Pretzel Sticks

After getting my tonsils out over the summer, all I wanted after weeks of liquids and soft foods was something crunchy! I became obsessed with eating pretzel sticks, specifically these gluten-free pretzel sticks by Quinn. They taste even better with a vintage cola by Olipop!
