Best Workout Classes in Boston & The South Shore

In this week’s weekly newsletter, I highlighted my favorite workout studios in Boston! For this week’s blog post, I thought I would share with you the studios I chose in Boston, and I also have included my favorite workout classes on the South Shore of Boston! As a certified barre instructor, I love to try out as many different classes as possible, and I’ve definitely found some of my favorite workout classes over time, even if they aren’t all barre! I hope you get a chance to try out one of these classes sometime soon! Remember, endorphins make you happy! 😉

Best Workout Classes in Boston!

1) Barry’s
If you love running/walking and lifting weights, you will love this class! They have a few different locations in the Boston area (Chestnut Hill, Back Bay, and Downtown). Basically, it’s a red room and you alternate running on their treadmills and lifting weights or doing bodyweight exercises on the floor! I love how I feel after HIIT classes because they really do get the endorphins flowing!

2) Orange Theory
Classes at OTF are very similar to Barry’s, except they also include rowing! Also instead of alternating every few minutes between the floor and the treadmill, at orange theory most of the time, you stay on each side for about 25 minutes before switching. OTF always offers “Challenges” throughout the year so that you can see how your fitness is improving, and I think the community aspect of OTF is so amazing and everyone truly supports anyone!

3) Soul Cycle
If you are a fan of spinning, Soul Cycle is the place to go! Every instructor is so so motivating, and the room has such a great vibe! They have lots of theme rides throughout the week, and if it’s your birthday, you even get to blow out a candle!

4) North End Yoga
This is such a great studio in Boston! They have amazing barre, pilates, and yoga classes and it’s in such a perfect location in the city! After class, head over to Mike’s Pastry to get a post-workout treat!

5) Exhale Boston
This place is absolutely amazing! Basically its a gym and a spa all in one! I love the barre classes here, but they also offer yoga and different cardio classes! After class head to the spa to get zen after a great sweat!

Best Workout Classes on the South Shore of Boston!

1) Balance Studio

I love love love Balance Studio! It has such zen vibes right in the heart of Cohasset, fabulous instructors, and great yoga, barre, and pilates classes! They also offer unique yoga classes like meditation, spa yoga, and so much more. I also teach barre here, so if you are free, come and take my class!

2) Revd Indoor Cycling

This is a great spin studio located in Derby Street! I love the music in every class I take as well as the atmosphere in the room. The instructors are all very enthusiastic, kind, and encouraging! I highly recommend taking a class if you are looking to change things up a little.

3) Krigsman Yoga

I love this yoga studio located in downtown Hingham! The studio is absolutely gorgeous and I love their black and white aesthetic. The classes are so fun and challenging and I always get a good sweat when I go here.

4) Orange Theory Hingham

I know I highlighted Orange Theory above, but I wanted to highlight this particular studio because it is just so amazing and the community is the best part! Everyone at the Hingham studio is so kind, encouraging, and they truly care about everyone there. The instructors are all so fun, and I always feel amazing leaving the OTF Hingham studio after class.

5) Secret Physique

This is an amazing barre studio with locations in Pembroke, Quincy, and Plymouth. The studio is gorgeous, and the instructors are so motivating. I never get bored whenever I take a barre class here and I always leave the room with my legs and arms shaking, which is just the best feeling ever after a barre class!

There are loads of other amazing studios in Boston & the South Shore, but these are just a few of my favorites! I’d love to hear your favorite studios in or around Boston!
